Kerala Religion Conversion Cases: A surprising case has come to light from Kerala. A man in the state claiming that his daughter Banita will be converted and married forcefully. A petition has been filed in the Kerala High Court.
In the petition filed, the person has alleged that his daughter is missing since June 8. Also, he can be converted from a person named Fahad. According to the report of Times Now, the young man had befriended her some time back, but the complete address of the boy is not even known to the girl’s family.
Missing since June 8
Banita’s father Abraham said that his daughter studies at SRM College in Chennai. He told that she used to call him two to three times a day, but since June 8 at 7:45 pm, she has not contacted him. Also, since then his phone is also switched off. After this, when Abraham asked the people of Banita’s hostel about her, they told that she had gone somewhere since June 8. Apart from this, while leaving, she had said that she was going to her cousin’s place.
Will be married against the will
It was said in the petition that the man had taken Banita to Mattanur without her consent. Also Banita is not his community. Because of which she will be forced to convert and she will be married against her will. The case of Banita and Fahad is still under investigation. While it is not clear whether there was any force involved in Banita’s conversion to Islam, the case has raised concerns about the ongoing love jihad in Kerala.
