Railway’s preparations for the Kumbh Mela have intensified from now itself. Railways has also made a plan to run special trains to bring and take passengers. More than 800 special trains have been planned to take passengers from every corner of the country to the Kumbh Mela.
On Saturday, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav inspected the control office in New Delhi. He held a review meeting with the railway officials regarding the arrangements for the Kumbh Mela. Railway Minister said that more than 800 Mela special trains will be operated for the 6 main bathing days of January 2025.
More than 15 crore people are expected to visit
More than 15 crore pilgrims are expected to visit Kumbh-2025. Rs 837 crore has been approved for various works including ROB/RUB and passenger amenities to be done by NR, NCR and NER. At the same time, a total of nine stations of NCR, NER and NR have been planned to deal with the problem of pilgrims traffic.
Instructions given regarding safety of movement of trains
Railway Minister also inspected the control office and interacted with the officers and railway employees of the control office. He instructed the officers and employees present to ensure the safety of train movement and said that it should not be compromised. At the same time, instructions were also given to keep maintenance, cleanliness and other problems correct.
