korba news: In Korba district of Chhattisgarh, the land of farmers Ramnath Rathore, Nohar Lal Sahu, Ramkumar Bareth has been acquired for construction of road for National Highway No-149 Korba-Champa main road under construction in Korba district of Chhattisgarh. Farmers are constantly applying for the payment of its compensation amount. Applications were given several times in the SDM office and the collector’s office, but the officers and employees are returning after giving assurances.
It is being told by the farmers that for many days they are tired of going around the government offices. Just assurance is given by the officials but till now no compensation has been given to the farmers. The farmer is preparing to file a complaint about the construction of a road on the land without compensation.
The patience of the farmers is breaking
Finally, after getting tired, a farmer has started building a house on his acquired land. Similarly, another farmer has started plowing for agriculture. When the land acquired by the NH department was levelled, farmer Ramnath Rathore protested. Then he was told that he would get his compensation within 15 days, but after 6 months when the work of asphalting the land started, the farmer lost his patience. And on June 17, he placed bricks and stones to build a house on the under-construction National Highway Korba-Champa main road. He told that now he will build a house in his land. This is because they are tired of going round the government office. Farmers Nohar Lal Sahu and Ramkumar Bareth of Devlapath have also plowed the field for paddy crop on their land. All this is happening because of the apathy of the departmental officer. Farmers did not get compensation even after going to the collector’s office and Jandarshan several times.
Written application has been given five times so far
Farmer Nohar Lal Sahu has given written application five times so far. He gave this application in writing on 20 August 2021, 21 February 2022, 22 February, 15 June 2022, 13 September 2022, 17 November 2022. Went to the government office several times with local public representative Jham Lal Sahu. Even after that, the officials of the department did not take any action, so the farmer thought it appropriate to build a house on his own land.
Two employees reached from the department started making pressure
The farmer told that two employees of the National Highway came and started threatening the farmers to file a report. From which the farmer called former BDC Jham Lal Sahu and he talked to the officers and asked the farmers to get their rights. The farmer is now preparing to file a report complaining about the leveling of the land without giving compensation.
