Delhi news: In the midst of people’s running life, time was not available during the day. In such a situation, big news is coming out from the country’s capital Delhi. Now people living in Delhi will be able to promote business and economic activities during night. In order to provide maximum facilities to the people, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena (Vinai Kumar Saxena) had approved 55 proposals related to night service and business pending since 2016 in the last month of April. After which now the Lieutenant Governor has directed the Labor Department to create a single window system in the form of an integrated portal for approval of applications related to establishments and shops operating 24×7. Along with this, he has also given instructions to make the process of disposal of these applications transparent.

The Lieutenant Governor has approved 155 applications received through online medium on Tuesday, which were granted exemption under sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Delhi Shops and Establishment Act 1954. According to the labor department of the Delhi government, there has been an improvement in the process of granting clearances since the emphasis was placed on disposing of applications in a time-bound manner.

Discount given keeping in mind the safety and labor interests

In October 2022, the Lieutenant Governor had exempted 314 establishments under sections 14, 15 and 16 of the Delhi Shops and Establishments Act 1954 with certain conditions keeping in view the safety and labor interests, so that they would open on 24X7 basis. Under this, establishments and shops providing essential services to the people were exempted. These include e-commerce, grocery stores, hospitality, airport service, cold storage, godown, security services, etc. The Lt Governor is making efforts to ensure transparency between the regulators and businessmen through accessible and ‘faceless’ digital interface for disposal of such applications.
