Passport Seva Divas 2023: On the occasion of Passport Seva Divas, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Saturday (June 24) that India will soon start the second phase of the Passport Seva Program (PSP-Version 2.0).
Jaishankar told that in the second phase of passport service, there will be new and upgraded e-passports. Appealing to the passport issuing authorities in the country and abroad, he said that they should provide passport related services to the people in a timely, reliable and transparent manner.
What did S Jaishankar say?
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi told that S Jaishankar has said that the Prime Minister is for the citizens. Narendra Modi Keeping in view the vision of (PM Modi) ‘Ease of Living’, a new paradigm of ‘EASE’ will start. He told the meaning of E – to make passport available to the citizens using digital eco system.
Jaishankar has A’s- Artificial Intelligence driven service delivery, easy foreign travel using S-chip enabled e-passport and E-enhanced data security.

Sharing on Twitter, Arindam Bagchi wrote that S Jaishankar has issued a statement on the occasion of Passport Seva Divas. He said that the Ministry of External Affairs is committed to provide passports to the people on time.
S Jaishankar told that in the year 2022, 13.32 million passports and services related to it were provided. This is 63 percent more than in 2021.
