US Supreme Court bans use of race-ethnicity during university admissions

The US Supreme Court on Thursday (June 29) in one of its decisions has banned the use of race and ethnicity during admission to universities. US President Joe Biden has strongly objected to the court’s decision.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote in the majority opinion, "The student should be treated as an individual based on his/her experiences, not on the basis of race."
