Manipur Violence: There has been an uproar due to the outbreak of violence in the state of Manipur in Northeast India. There is fighting between the people of the Meitei community and the Naga and Kuki tribes. A large number of these people are also Christians, and in this case this matter is also related to people of foreign origin. People from many states live in Manipur, due to the outbreak of violence, more than 23 thousand people have been rescued from there.

Canada, the world’s second largest country, has issued an advisory for its citizens regarding violence-hit Manipur. The Canadian government has asked its citizens to avoid non-essential travel to violence-hit Manipur.

The Canadian government’s advisory said, “Violent protests have been taking place in India’s Manipur state since May 3, 2023, resulting in dozens of casualties. Traffic and public transport have been disrupted there due to the protests. Curfew has been imposed in many districts and mobile and internet services may be limited. In such a situation, it is necessary that our people avoid unnecessary travel to Manipur now.

  • Under the alert, Canada has advised its people that there may be a risk to their safety if they go to Manipur. That’s why take care of the necessary measures and also follow the instructions of the local authorities, stay in touch with them.

The government said – the situation is improving rapidly

Here, it is being said by the Government of India that the situation in Manipur has started becoming normal. The violence has stopped there now. Curfew was lifted in Churachandpur district from 7 am to 10 am on Sunday, May 7, so that people could buy essential goods. According to media reports, at 10 o’clock the army and the Assam Rifles conducted a flag march in the entire district. Churachandpur is the same district where violence started on April 27, which spread across the state.

54 people have died in the violence so far

It has been told in the news from the Northeast that 54 people have died in Manipur violence so far. And, because of this, 14 companies of security forces have been deployed there. There is also news that the central government is going to send 20 more companies to the state. Till now many states have evacuated their people from Manipur. In which Nagaland has evacuated 676, Sikkim 128 and Maharashtra 22 citizens.
