Ajit Agarkar will replace Chetan Sharma as the chief selector. BCCI has also increased the salary to make Ajit Agarkar the chief selector.

Agarkar was earlier associated with Delhi Capitals. But a few days ago, Agarkar had left the Delhi Capitals. After this it was clear that Agarkar would be made the chief selector. The appointment of Ajit Agarkar is very important before the Asia Cup to be played next month. Along with this, Ajit Agarkar’s role will be important in this year’s World Cup as well.

Increase in salary

Such news also came to the fore that due to the low salary of the selector, no big player wants to apply for this post. It was also learned that Virender Sehwag turned down the offer to become the chief selector because of his low salary. Keeping these things in mind, the salary of the chief selector has been increased by the BCCI. As the chief selector, Ajit Agarkar will get Rs 1 crore annually from the BCCI. The salary of the rest of the selectors has also been increased towards BCCI.

Before playing the last ODI in 2007, Ajit Agarkar played 191 ODIs for India and took 288 wickets in them. Ajit Agarkar has also played 26 Tests. Not only this, Ajit Agarkar has also scored a century in the Test at Lord’s, which is called the Mecca of cricket.
