‘I am ready to take help’, HD Kumaraswamy shows warmth towards BJP


Karnataka News: Former Karnataka Chief Minister and Janata Dal Secular (JDS) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday (July 05) while showing warmth towards the BJP, accused the Congress government of corruption. Kumaraswamy said that ‘a new chapter has to be started to curb the robbers’.

Kumaraswamy, the second-in-command in the JDS, said he would support those who join the campaign. A day earlier, Yeddyurappa, a strong Karnataka BJP leader, had supported Kumaraswamy on this allegation. The JDS leader said that the ‘business of transfer posting’ is going on on a large scale, in which officers are being charged Rs 30 lakh for continuing in their posts.

Continuing his attack on the Siddaramaiah government, Kumaraswamy told reporters, “Yesterday Yeddyurappa spoke some good words about me. I don’t want to uproot the dead. A new chapter has to be started to curb these robbers. The JDS termed the Congress government as looters and said that the party was involved in the ‘transfer business’ on a large scale.

Kumaraswamy said, ‘Whoever wants to support me, I am ready to take his help. I will stand by anyone who comes forward in my campaign to save the resources of this state.

At the same time, BJP’s Central Parliamentary Board member and former Chief Minister Yeddyurappa said on Tuesday, ‘We agree with the allegations leveled by HD Kumaraswamy. He is talking responsibly. We will take them into confidence in our struggle. They should also support us. We extend our full support to Kumaraswamy’s struggle.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar termed Kumaraswamy’s allegations as baseless. Siddaramaiah said, ‘He is desperate. Therefore, giving such a statement. Whereas Shivakumar said, ‘Kumaraswamy should do his politics. Our duty is to serve the people, which we will do.
