Pakistan Cricket Team In World Cup 2023: ODI World 2023 is to be played in India. The schedule for the tournament has also been released by the ICC. But till now the situation of Pakistan is not clear yet. The Asian Cricket Council and the ICC may have received a letter of understanding from Pakistan, but after the changes in the PCB, things seem to be getting complicated once again.
Now Pakistan’s Sports Minister Ehsan Mazari said that if the Indian team demanded a neutral venue for the Asia Cup, then similarly we will not go to India for the World Cup. Talking to ‘Indian Express’, Ehsan Mazari said, “This is my personal opinion, because the Pakistan Cricket Board comes under my ministry. So if India demands to play their matches at neutral venues in the Asia Cup, we will demand the same for the World Cup to be played in India.”
Ehsan Mazari also said that he has no problem with playing in Ahmedabad, but for that the Indian team will have to come to Pakistan. At the same time, Pakistan’s PM Shahbaz Sharif has constituted a high-level committee headed by Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto for Pakistan’s participation in the world.
Regarding that committee, the Sports Minister of Pakistan said, “Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto will head the committee and I am also included in the 11 ministers who are part of the committee. We will discuss this issue and give recommendations to the Prime Minister, who is also the head of PCB’s protege. The PM will take the final decision.”
Apart from this, Mazari said that he was not in support of the hybrid model for the Asian Cup 2023. Ehsan Mazari said, “Pakistan is the host and it has the right to organize all the matches here. All cricket lovers also want the same. I don’t want a hybrid model.”
The Sports Minister further said, “India brings sports into politics. I do not understand why the Government of India does not want to send its team here. Sometime back a big contingent from India was in Islamabad to play a baseball tournament, I was the chief guest of the event. Pakistan’s football hockey, chess teams also tour India.
