Varanasi: On the first Monday (July 10) of Shravan Maas, there was a huge crowd of devotees in various Shiva temples of the state. The order of Jalabhishek started with the opening of the doors in Kashi Vishwanath Temple located in Varanasi and Lodheshwar Mahadev Temple in Barabanki. The officers provided this information. Officials of Varanasi’s Kashi Vishwanath Temple said that there was a long queue of devotees in the temple since morning and by noon the number of devotees had crossed three lakhs.
Public Relations Officer of Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Piyush Tiwari told that elaborate arrangements have been made to ensure that the devotees coming to visit Baba Vishwanath do not face any problem. Keeping in mind the heat, arrangements for drinking water and coolers have been made at various places. He told that LED screens have also been installed at various places so that the devotees can watch the worship being done in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Arrangements were also made by the district administration to shower flowers on the devotees.
More than three lakh devotees have worshiped
Piyush Tiwari told that wheelchairs were also arranged for the disabled and elderly devotees. He told that by one o’clock in the afternoon more than three lakh devotees had offered prayers. According to the information received from Barabanki, there was a crowd of devotees in the famous Mahabharata period Lodheshwar Mahadev temple located in Ramnagar. With the opening of the doors of the temple at midnight, a crowd of devotees started pouring in and till Monday afternoon, more than one and a half lakh devotees had offered prayers in the temple.
Extensive security arrangements have been made near Lodheshwar Mahadev Temple
The chief priest of the temple told that this year the crowd in Lodheshwar Mahadev temple was less as compared to other years. He said that barricading was done at a distance of about two and a half kilometers from the temple and two-wheelers and four-wheelers were not allowed near the temple, due to which elderly devotees could not come to the temple. Ramnagar sub-collector Anurag Singh told that extensive security arrangements have been made around the Lodheshwar Mahadev temple. Adequate arrangements have also been made for the convenience of the devotees. During this time, a large number of devotees went to the Mankameshwar temple in the capital Lucknow and offered prayers to Lord Shiva.
