Direct Tax collections Data: A spectacular boom is being seen in the direct tax collection. In the financial year 2023-24 till July 9, 2023, the total tax collection has been Rs 5.17 lakh crore, which is 14.65 percent more than the same period of the financial year 2022-23. The Finance Ministry has released this data of Direct Tax Collection.
According to the Finance Ministry, progress is being seen in direct tax collection. And till July 9, the direct tax collection has been Rs 5.17 lakh crore, which is 14.65 percent more than the same period last year. Excluding refunds, the direct tax collection has been a total of Rs 4.75 lakh crore, which is 15.87 percent more than the previous year. Direct tax collection for a little more than a quarter is 26.05 per cent of the budget estimates of direct tax collection for 2023-24.

The Finance Ministry said that from April 1, 2023 to July 9, 2023, a refund of Rs 42,000 crore has been issued to taxpayers, which is 2.55 percent more than the refund issued in the same period last year. Income tax return filing season is going on.
