Dearness Allowance Hike News: The government has now changed the dearness allowance of these employees. The Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) under the Ministry of Finance has revised the rates of Dearness Allowance to be given to CPSE officers holding below board level posts and board level posts. In addition, the DA of non-unionized supervisors following the IDA pattern of 1992 pay scale has been revised.
The increased dearness allowance will be given to these employees from July 1, 2023. According to the information released by the DPE on July 7, the increased DA will be given in this way. The DA rate will be 701.9 per cent of the salary from July 1, 2023, on basic pay up to Rs 3500 per month, which will be at least Rs 15,428. And on the basic salary of more than Rs 3500 and up to Rs 6500, the DA rate will be 526.4 per cent or a minimum of Rs 24,567 per month. On salary above Rs 6500 and up to Rs 9500, DA is 421.1 per cent, which will be a minimum of Rs 34,216. Similarly, on basic pay above Rs 9500, DA will be 351 per cent or a minimum of Rs 40,005.
When is DA installment released?
The installment of DA to CPSE employees becomes payable from 1st January, 1st April, 1st July and 1st October every year on the basis of increase in price over the quarterly index average of 1099 (1960=100). DPE said that the average AICPI (1960=100) for the quarter March 2023 to May 2023 is 8813. In such a situation, the DA of the employees has been amended.
It may be noted that according to a circular dated June 25, 1999 from the DPE, under the new DA scheme, the DA hike has been mentioned for the board level and below board level officers and non-unionized supervisors of CPSEs.
When will the DA of central employees increase
It has not yet been officially announced by the Central Government that when the dearness allowance of central employees will increase. Although some media reports have said that the DA of government employees can increase anytime in this month. Along with this, the government can also increase the house rent allowance and other allowances. If the government increases the dearness allowance, then the increased DA will be applicable from July 1, 2023. It is expected that the government can increase the DA of government employees by 3 to 4 percent.
