R Ashwin Against West Indies In Test: The Indian team will start the two-match Test series against the West Indies from tomorrow (July 12). The first test match will be played in Dominica. Team India is busy preparing for the series. Indian spin all-rounder R Ashwin can prove to be the death knell for the opposing team in this series. So far Ashwin’s figures in Test cricket against the West Indies have been excellent. He has done wonders with both the ball and the bat.

Ashwin has so far scored 5 centuries while batting in his Test career, out of which he has scored 4 centuries against the West Indies. Ashwin has played 11 Tests against the West Indies so far. While bowling in 21 innings of these matches, he has taken 60 wickets at an average of 21.85. During this, he has taken five wicket haul 4 times. In this, his best bowling figure has been 7-83.

While batting in 12 innings of 11 matches, he scored 552 runs at an impressive average of 50.18. During this, 4 centuries have come out of his bat, in which his high score has been 124 runs. During this, he has returned to the pavilion only once without opening an account.

Wasn’t part of the playing XI in the World Test Championship final

Ashwin played his last Test through the Border-Gavaskar Trophy played in February-March. At the same time, Ashwin was not a part of the playing XI in the WTC final played against Australia in June. Indian captain Rohit Sharma had decided to play an additional fast bowler in place of Ashwin.

International career so far

Ashwin, who made his international debut in June 2010, has so far played 92 Tests, 113 ODIs and 65 T20 Internationals. He has taken 474 wickets in Tests, 151 in ODIs and 72 wickets in T20 Internationals. While batting, he has scored 3129 runs in Tests, 707 runs in ODIs and 184 runs in T20 Internationals.
