Gorakhpur News: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists were demonstrating since morning on Friday (July 21) at Deen Dayal Upadhyaya University in Gorakhpur, the city of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alleging irregularities. While demonstrating, the workers kept waiting for the Vice Chancellor till afternoon. Even then the Vice Chancellor did not come out till 3 pm, after which the angry workers reached the Vice Chancellor’s room. During this, the police was taking out the VC under their protection, when the activists attacked the VC. Along with beating the Vice-Chancellor, the workers also thrashed the policemen who were trying to intervene.
In fact, ABVP workers were demonstrating alleging irregularities in Gorakhpur University. The workers of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad had demonstrated in this regard many times before. In this regard, on June 26, ABVP workers created ruckus at the administrative building. On that day, the workers also broke the locks of three gates. After that the Vice-Chancellor listened to the problems of the students one by one and assured that soon all these would be resolved. Although there was no result of this, on Thursday (July 20) a warning was given to burn the effigy of the Vice-Chancellor.
Police chased the workers using mild force
The anger of the ABVP workers sitting on dharna for several days erupted on Friday afternoon. During this, ABVP workers badly thrashed the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar for not listening to the problems, badly beat the Vice-Chancellor and the Registrar. There was an uproar in the university campus regarding the incident. Angry ABVP workers barged into the Vice-Chancellor’s room and ransacked it and uprooted the door. As soon as the information was received, a large number of police forces reached the spot. Seeing the police in the university campus, the ABVP workers got enraged and beat up the police as well. Later, the police chased away the workers using mild force and detained some workers from the spot.
Many members of Niyanta Mandal were injured in the melee
Even a week ago, ABVP activists were protesting at the main gate of Gorakhpur University and burning the effigy of the Vice Chancellor. Only then Niyanta Dr. Satyapal Singh and the members of Niyanta Mandal reached there, where they tried to convince the students. During this a scuffle started between the two sides, the workers attacked the Chief Controller Dr. Satyapal Singh, Dr. Sunil Kumar Singh and other members. The administrators were stunned after this behavior of the students, after which the ABVP workers burnt the effigy of the vice-chancellor and raised slogans.
