Coromandel Express Derail: Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has expressed grief over the train accident in Odisha on Friday (June 2). He has announced a compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased, Rs 2 lakh for seriously injured passengers and Rs 50,000 for those with minor injuries.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also announced a compensation of two lakh rupees each to the families of those who lost their lives in the Odisha train accident. According to the PMO, it has been announced to give 50 thousand rupees for the injured.
Ashwini Vaishnav tweeted that he is leaving for Odisha. Rescue teams have also been mobilized from Bhubaneswar and Kolkata. Teams of NDRF, State Government and Airforce are present on the spot. He said that all necessary steps will be taken for the rescue operation.
An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNRF would be given to the next of kin of each deceased in the train mishap in Odisha. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000: PM @narendramodi

PM Modi spoke to the Railway Minister
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Has also expressed grief over the train accident. Along with this, he has spoken to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav regarding this accident. He tweeted, “I am distressed by the incident of train accident in Odisha. My thoughts are with the bereaved families in this hour of grief. I wish the injured a speedy recovery. Spoke to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and took stock of the situation.” Rescue operations are underway at the accident site and all possible assistance is being provided to the affected people.”
