Canadian Forest Fires: The forests of Canada, the world’s second largest country, are burning in flames. There has been the worst fire ever in the forests. The fire has spread over an area of 33 thousand square km, this area is as big as the European country Belgium. Crores of animals and birds have died due to the fire and a large number of humans have also had to leave their homes.
According to the Canadian Wildland Fire Information System, there are currently 413 fires burning in Canada, out of which the situation is out of control in 249 places. There is a possibility of the situation getting worse till August. The smoke and dust of forest fires have now started spreading in many states of America apart from Canada. Air alert has been issued in New York, Minnesota, Queens and Massachusetts of America.
PM Trudeau said- We are trying to control the situation
To extinguish the fire, more than a thousand firefighters from many countries including America, New Zealand and South Africa have reached Canada. The statement of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has come on the fire. Trudeau said that the situation is scary for the people. He admitted that 1.20 lakh people had to leave their homes. Trudeau said- We are trying to control the situation. Some pictures of Canada’s Fort Nelson, British Columbia have surfaced on social media, in which the forest fire of Donnie Creek Complex is visible.
Millions of square kilometers of forest burn every year
It should be noted that Canada is the country where forests are present on a large area. There the forest fire is considered the biggest disaster after the flood. According to an estimate, an area of 40 lakh square kilometers gets burnt every year due to forest fire there. Canada is a country in North America, which consists of 10 states and 3 union territories. This country is located in the northern part of the continent, which extends from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean and in the north to the Arctic Ocean. The area of Canada is 9,984,670 square km.
