CM Sarma, who attended the meeting through video conferencing from his office chamber at Janata Bhawan in Guwahati, said, “With the onset of monsoon in the state, all government departments including NHAI, NHIDC, NDRF and SDRF are working to deal with the floods and reach out to the affected people.” Get alerted for.

‘Enough doctors and medicines should be available’
CM Sarma also directed the officials to visit and monitor the areas of possible embankment breaches. He directed the maintenance of roads in flood and landslide prone areas. The CM directed that adequate doctors should be present to deal with the emergency and adequate medicines should also be available. He also directed to keep adequate fodder arrangements.
Along with this, the CM also asked to allot the necessary phone numbers. The CM asked Gyanendra Dev Tripathi, Principal Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management, to take steps for the preparation of NDRF and SDRF personnel in sensitive districts, especially Dima Hasao.
CM Sarma asked to warn people
Chief Minister Sarma also asked the ASDMA to activate the hazard communication and early warning system to warn people about the possible dangers of floods. The CM instructed the deputy commissioners that relief camps should be set up in case of submergence of low-lying residential areas.
He also asked to keep the relief distribution organized in the relief distribution centers. CM also said to keep sufficient number of Jio bags available in sensitive areas.
