In this resolution, immediate action has been demanded against the political party and its leader involved in the violence of May 9 under the stringent military law.
In a tweet from the official handle of the National Assembly, it was written, “The proposal was introduced in the lower house on behalf of Defense Minister Khwaja Asif, which was passed by majority. According to the proposal, a political party and its leaders on 9 May crossed all limits and attacked military establishments, causing irreparable damage to the country’s institutions and the nation.”
‘No delay in taking action against the culprits’
Without naming Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, the resolution demanded that action be taken against all such elements as per law and constitution. There should be no delay in taking action against the culprits. It also states that there has been no violation of human rights during the action taken against anti-social elements and criminals.
The resolution states that the army has the right to act worldwide in response to attacks on military installations and that all those involved should be punished for their actions under the Pakistan Army Act 1952. Let us tell you, if Imran Khan is punished according to the Army Law, then life imprisonment or death sentence can be given.
‘endangered the country’s governance system’
Defense Minister Asif said in the House that military installations were targeted and the country’s governance system was put in danger. He said that no new law is being made against the culprits of May 9. After the arrest of Imran Khan by a paramilitary ranger in Islamabad on May 9, violent demonstrations started across the country.
Imran Khan Activists of the party vandalized more than 20 military establishments and government buildings, including the Lahore Corps Commander’s House, the Mianwali airbase and the ISI building in Faisalabad. The army headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi was also attacked by the mob.
