48 medicines failed in quality test, check whether you are still consuming these medicines


There are 48 such medicines including calcium, multivitamin, antibiotics which have failed in their quality test. The Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) has revealed in its investigation report that there are 48 such medicines which have completely failed in their quality check. According to the information, last month a total of 1497 medicines were quality checked. Out of which 48 medicines failed. This test shows that 3 percent of these drugs are not fit for human consumption.

Along with medicines in the list, medical equipments, cosmetics which have not been found to be of good quality. Not fit for human use. These medicines are fake, adulterated or misbranded. CDSCO’s test report includes 14 medicines manufactured in Uttarakhand, 13 in Himachal Pradesh, 4 in Karnataka, 2-2 in Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi and one each in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Sikkim, Jammu and Puducherry. These drugs are manufactured by private and government drug manufacturers, including PSU Karnataka Antibiotics & Pharmaceuticals, Uttarakhand-based Sinokem Pharmaceuticals, Haryana-based Nestor Pharmaceuticals, Uttar Pradesh-based JBJM Parenteral, Solan-based Ronam Healthcare and Mumbai-based Glenmark Pharmaceuticals.< /p>

According to the CDSCO report, these medicines also include medicines like Lycopene Mineral Syrup, which people use in large quantities. Apart from this, there are medicines like Vitamin C Injection, Folic Acid Injection, Albendazole, Kaushik Dock-500, Nicotinamide Injection, Amoxanol Plus and Alciflox. These medicines are used to correct vitamin deficiency, control high BP, prevent allergies, control acid and eliminate fungal infections. Toothpaste of a well-known company has also been found to have failed in these medicines, which people use a lot.

 In this investigation, a notice has been issued to the pharma companies regarding the medicines that have failed and their answers have been sought. All drug inspectors have been ordered to investigate pharma companies. It has also been said to withdraw the failed drugs from the market. For your information, let us tell you that the work of CDSCO is to test samples of medicines of different pharma companies every few months. Tests were also done in November last year, in which about 50 medicines failed. They included antibiotics.
