Dumka: Illegal coal business is at its peak in Jharkhand. Stopping illegal coal business remains a challenge for the administration. From time to time, there have been reports of illegal coal business from many parts of the state. Regarding this, on the lines of Uttar Pradesh, the forest department has started bulldozer action to crack down on illegal coal business in Jharkhand.
This action has been started from Panchvahini forest area of Shikaripada police station area of Dumka district of Jharkhand. There are hundreds of such illegal coal mines in this area. Due to which the mafia is defrauding the revenue of lakhs of rupees by illegal mining of coal every day. When the Deputy Commissioner Dumka and the Forest Department got information about this, then on the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, they reached the area with bulldozers for direct action. Where there were dozens of such illegal coal mines. During this, the department has also seized several quintals of coal. Where coal mafia used to do illegal business of coal at night as well as in daylight.

Illegal business of coal is at its peak in several police station areas like Shikaripada, Masalia, Gopikandar, Kathikund, Ramgarh etc. in Dumka district. Illegal coal mines in the Panchvahini area of Shikaripada block are being demolished by the Forest Department with bulldozers and the mine is being closed. According to DFO Satvik, the department is continuously taking action from time to time. However, distancing himself from the question of complicity of officials in this scam, the DFO said that there is no such information till now. While there is news of illegal coal business in Nau Pahad area of Shikaripada area. Apart from this, information has been received from the sources of illegal mining in Pakalupada, Kalyanshwari bamboo hill areas.
