Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir: Pakistan Army Chief General Asim Munir on Saturday (April 29) said that the armed forces are fully capable of defending the country and efforts for peace should never be seen as a sign of weakness. Munir was addressing the passing out parade of cadets at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul in Abbottabad district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
He said that Pakistan wants peace in the region and with its neighbors. The army chief said, “Our efforts for peace should never be seen as a sign of weakness.” The army chief said, “We have the will and ability to defend our sovereignty and territorial integrity, and are well aware of how to do so.”

The remarks come at a time when senior journalist Hamid Mir claimed in a TV show a few days back that former army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa had said in a meeting with 20-25 journalists in 2021 that the Pakistan Army was capable of combat Not there. He said, we will continue to provide political, moral and diplomatic support to our Kashmiri brothers. He also said that the international community should realize that without a just and peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue, regional peace cannot be maintained.
