According to the report, maximum 402 projects are in the road transport and highways sector, whose work is progressing slowly. After this, 115 projects of railway and 86 projects of petroleum sector are running late. This report has been released by the Infrastructure and Projects Monitoring Department. This department comes under the Ministry of Statistics and Program Implementation. Its task is to monitor central sector projects costing more than Rs 150 crore.
Accounting for about 1,500 projects
As per the March release of the report on the status of infrastructure projects. According to him, 402 out of 749 projects in the road transport and highways sector are delayed. At the same time, 115 out of 173 railway projects are running behind their time. 86 out of 145 projects in the petroleum sector are running behind schedule. The report for the month of March accounts for 1,449 projects costing more than Rs 150 crore.
The slowest project

There are 165 projects in which there has been further delay during the last one month. Out of these 165 projects, 52 projects are big. Projects costing more than Rs 1,000 crore are placed in this category.
Delays have increased the cost
About the road transport and highways sector, the report said The original cost of implementation of 749 projects was Rs 4,32,893.85 crore, which may now increase to Rs 4,51,168.46 crore. In this way the cost of these projects has increased by 4.2 per cent. Talking about the amount, the delay in the projects of road transport and highway sector has increased the burden of more than 20 thousand crore rupees on the government exchequer. The cost was Rs 3,72,761.45 crore, which was later revised to Rs 6,27,160.59 crore. In this way their cost has increased by 68.2 percent. The original cost of implementation of 145 projects in the petroleum sector was Rs 3,63,608.84 crore, but later it has been increased to Rs 3,84,082.25 crore.
