Himanta Biswa Sarma on Congress: Campaigning for the assembly elections to be held in Karnataka on May 10 is going on in full swing. All the political parties are engaged in wooing the voters by fielding their star campaigners. In this sequence, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma reached Tumakuru and addressed the gathering. At the same time, he attacked the Congress.
Talking to reporters, he said, “I don’t think Congress can do anything. No one should even care that Congress will come to power. Congress will not be able to win for the next 100 years.”
Apart from this, he said, “This constituency (Tumkuru) is a symbol of corruption and inefficiency of the Congress. Today, most of the 342 villages do not have drinking water and roads. We want to turn this into the most efficient constituency in Karnataka. That’s why we have fielded the best candidate as we want to serve the great people of this constituency.”
Took a jibe at Congress’ claim of victory
Earlier on Sunday (April 30) too, he had taken a jibe at the Congress’s claim of victory and termed it air-air. He said, “Congress must have gathered some knowledge about EVMs, that’s why they are making such claims before elections. Earlier also it was the same Congress which used to accuse BJP regarding EVMs. If he is predicting the result before the Karnataka assembly elections, then I think there must have been some new knowledge about EVMs.”

He further said, “The way Congress is looking assured of victory in Karnataka and its leaders are claiming majority, it seems that in all the elections they had lost earlier, BJP was unnecessarily blamed for EVMs. were making allegations. After all, how is he getting the confidence of the majority in this election. This clearly means that after the defeat, this party instead of taking the responsibility on its shoulders, blames others.
