On estrangement from Sachin Pilot, CM Ashok Gehlot said, ‘In Karnataka…’

Rajasthan Politics: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has given a big statement amid reports of ongoing differences in the Rajasthan Congress. He said on Monday (May 1) that in every party, in every state, there is some estrangement among themselves. The estrangement that exists in the Rajasthan BJP will not be seen anywhere. In Karnataka too, former Chief Minister of BJP, Deputy Chief Minister are leaving the party and joining Congress.

Ashok Gehlot said this during the campaign for the assembly elections in Karnataka. Actually, the estrangement between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot is not hidden from anyone. Recently, Sachin Pilot had also staged a one-day dharna against the Congress government of Rajasthan. He alleged that the present government has not taken any action on the allegations of corruption against the previous BJP government.

Apart from this, Sachin Pilot, referring to the events of September last year, called upon Congress representatives and other leaders to go among the people and workers and understand their feelings as the assembly elections are round the corner. On Saturday, Congress in-charge of Rajasthan Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa had said that he does not want to take things of the past too far and now the focus should be on the future.

It is worth mentioning that on September 25 last year, a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party was called at the residence of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot regarding the change in leadership in Rajasthan Congress. However, this meeting could not take place because the MLAs of the Gehlot camp did not turn up for the meeting and held a separate meeting. Gehlot’s pro-MLAs had turned against the appointment of Sachin Pilot to the post of CM.

Referring to the same incident on April 23, Sachin Pilot had said that it was an open violation of the orders of the then Congress President Sonia Gandhi. Then Mallikarjun Kharge and Ajay Maken were openly insulted. Why no action has been taken against him yet? This is a question, the answer lies with the party itself.
