According to sources, the Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh Police came very close to nabbing Shaista Parveen in Prayagraj four days ago, but the ‘lady don’ managed to hoodwink the police with the help of the local people.
According to India Today, the police had received concrete information that Shaista is in Hatua area of Prayagraj. Sources said that he was seen near Atiq’s brother Ashraf Ahmed’s in-laws’ place. According to police sources, when the STF team reached there to raid, women wearing burqas surrounded the team. The police could not move forward and taking advantage of this, Shaista Parveen ran away.

Who helped Shaista Parveen?
Earlier, the UP police went to Naini jail and interrogated Atiq’s lawyer Khan Soulat Hanif, who is a big confidant of the gangster and is serving a life sentence in the Umesh Pal kidnapping case. Based on Hanif’s input, the police came to know that Shaista Parveen had met ‘Lady Don’ Mundi Passi before Umesh Pal’s murder.
Mundi Pasi’s name in the search list
Police sources say that Mundi Pasi, herself out on bail in several criminal cases, is helping Shaista Parveen escape and providing intelligence to her. Police is looking for Mundi Pasi and Atiq’s gunner Ehtesham near Kaushambi border.Along with Shaista Parveen, Ashraf’s wife Zainab and sister Ayesha Noori are also absconding.
Why is Shaista absconding?
The police have also come to know the names of some other helpers of Shaista Parveen. IOne of them is Guddu Muslim’s associate Asif alias Malli, who was involved in the Umesh Pal murder case. Shaista Parveen is on the run after being made an accused in the murder of Umesh Pal, the main witness in the 2005 BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case.
