Stock Market Closing On 2nd May 2023: After the long holiday, the first trading day of the month of May has been great for the Indian stock market. Due to the buying of investors, the market has closed at a fast pace. At the end of today’s trading, the BSE Sensex closed at 62,353 with a jump of 242 points and the National Stock Exchange’s Nifty closed at 18,147 points with a jump of 82 points.

In today’s trade, the shares of Banking, IT, Auto, Metals, Energy, Infra, Consumer Durables and Oil & Gas sectors closed at a brisk pace. Heavy buying was also seen in mid-cap and small-cap stocks. Nifty Midcap closed with a gain of 0.97 per cent or 307 points. Of the 30 Sensex stocks, 16 closed higher and 14 closed down. Whereas, out of 50 stocks of Nifty, 31 stocks closed up and 19 closed down. Today’s trade in Railway Stocks showed strong momentum.
