Wrestlers Protest: There was a clash between the wrestlers protesting in Delhi and the police on Wednesday (May 3) night. After which Swati Maliwal reached Jantar Mantar to meet him at night itself, but the police did not allow her to meet the wrestlers. However, Swati Maliwal once again reached Jantar Mantar on Thursday (May 4) morning. Maliwal said that the Delhi Police is committing hooliganism to save Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. He alleged that instead of arresting Brij Bhushan Sharan, he is troubling us.
Maliwal said that I am the chairperson of Delhi Women’s Commission, why can’t I meet women wrestlers? Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik were misbehaved in the night. He alleged that the Delhi Police did not register an FIR. Brij Bhushan is a goon and Delhi Police is protecting him. I am not being allowed to meet girls. Why am I not being allowed inside? However, after some time the police allowed Swati Maliwal to meet the wrestlers.
Aam Aadmi Party called a meeting
The Aam Aadmi Party has called a big meeting on Thursday (May 4) because of this incident. Will hold a meeting with MLAs, councilors and office bearers on Thursday 4th May. AAP has called a meeting regarding the misbehavior with the players on Wednesday night. According to the information, the meeting will be held from 12 noon on Thursday. Big leaders of Delhi including Gopal Rai will participate in this.
Permission has been sought to bring some essential items to the picket site
The protesting wrestlers have written a letter to Home Minister Amit Shah after the late night ruckus at Jantar Mantar. He has kept his 4 demands in the letter. Along with this, the details of the entire incident have been given. In a letter written to Shah, the players have accused the Delhi Police of misbehaving with them. The players have sought permission to bring some essential items to the picket site. These include waterproof tents, sturdy stages, beds, sound systems, mattresses and wrestling mats and gym equipment.
