Indian Premier League 2023: In the 16th season of IPL, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced a one-sided defeat by 7 wickets in the match against Delhi Capitals (DC). Batting first after winning the toss in this match, the RCB team scored 181 runs in 20 overs. The Delhi team achieved the target in just 16.4 overs thanks to Phil Salt’s excellent 87 runs. After the defeat of Royal Challengers Bangalore, team captain Faf du Plessis said that I felt that the score of 185 on this pitch is very good. Due to dew, our spin bowlers were completely out of the match. But the Delhi batsmen should also be given credit. You want your spin bowlers to perform better. For this, despite the dew, they have to bowl at the right places. We had to bear the brunt of some bad decisions and mistakes. But he batted really well.
Faf du Plessis further said in his statement that we could not score fast runs in the last over. If we were successful in doing this, our score would have reached close to 200. RCB will now have to perform better in the remaining matches
This was RCB’s 5th defeat in 10 matches this season and they will have to perform much better in the remaining 4 matches to make it to the playoffs. RCB now have to play their next match against Mumbai at Wankhede Stadium on 9th May.
