1943 Class 5th Commerce Paper: There is a discussion on social media about a question paper of 80 years old class five. Former IAS officer Badri Lal Swarnkar has tweeted this. It has been claimed that the question paper is of the commerce subject in the half-yearly examination of the fifth class in 1943-44.

Questions like calculating gold prices and writing business letters
The year is mentioned in the tweeted question paper, it also shows ‘Commerce Paper’ written in it. The question paper is of 100 marks, in which it is mandatory to score at least 33 marks to pass. With this, two and a half hours have been given to solve it. There are 10 questions in the question paper and you have been asked to attempt any eight questions. In the paper students have been asked to calculate the prices of gold. In this, it has also been asked to write a business letter to ask for the market price.
Users are getting mixed reactions regarding this question paper shared by the retired IAS officer. Some have expressed surprise while there are some who called it fake. One user wrote that the last question is very interesting, there is a need to re-add such questions in NEP.

I have not understood the discount till date. That’s why it was a big thing to pass 10th in those days. Today even graduation has no value left.
