Satya Pal Singh Baghel on Muslims: Union Minister Satyapal Singh Baghel has given a controversial statement on Monday (May 8). He said that tolerant Muslims can be counted on one hand and this is also a strategy to lead a public life wearing a mask as this path leads to the posts of Vice President, Governor or Vice Chancellor.
Satyapal Singh Baghel also alleged that the real face of such so-called intellectuals of the community comes to the fore after completing their term in office or after retirement. The Union Minister of State for Law and Justice gave this statement while addressing the Dev Rishi Narada journalist honor ceremony in Delhi on Monday. This program was organized by Indraprastha Vishwa Samvad Kendra, the media unit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, to give awards to journalists.
“The gimmick of living a public life with a mask”
Union Junior Law Minister said that tolerant Muslims can be counted on one hand. I think their number is not even in thousands and that too is a gimmick to live public life wearing a mask so that they can reach the post of Vice President, Governor or Vice Chancellor. But when he leaves the chair, he makes a statement that reflects his reality.
Satyapal Singh Baghel’s remarks came after Information Commissioner Uday Mahurkar’s speech in the program, in which he said that India should fight Islamic fundamentalism, but should take tolerant Muslims along. Referring to Mughal emperor Akbar’s efforts to promote Hindu-Muslim unity during his rule, Mahurkar claimed that Chhatrapati Shivaji saw him in a positive light. Akbar tried his best to achieve Hindu-Muslim unity.
Akbar and Aurangzeb mentioned
Rejecting this remark, Union Minister Baghel termed Akbar’s efforts as mere strategy and alleged that the Mughal emperor’s marriage to Jodha Bai was part of his political strategy. He said that this was not a step taken from his heart. Otherwise the massacre of Chittorgarh would not have happened. Look at the Mughal period, Aurangzeb’s exploits, sometimes I wonder how we survived.
also spoke on the issue of conversion
He also raised the issue of conversion and alleged that the number of people who have been converted to another religion through gande-talismans is more than those who do so for fear of the sword. Be it Khwaja Garib Nawaz Saheb, Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya or Salim Chishti. Even today people of our community go there in large numbers to get children, jobs, tickets (to contest elections), ministerial posts, from minister of state to cabinet minister.
“Teach Physics and Chemistry”
The Union Minister said that the members of the minority community feel that since they have been rulers for so long, how can they become subjects now. The solution to the problem lies in providing good quality education. This may one day provide some solution to the problem. If they study in a madrasa, they will study Urdu, Arabic and Farsi. All literature is good but by such studies they will become pesh-imam and if they study physics and chemistry they will become Abdul Kalam.
