The Defense Minister of the United Kingdom has announced that he will give long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine. He said that our ‘Storm Shadow’ missiles can hit targets at a distance of more than 250 km. Ukraine will be able to attack Russia with these missiles.
The United Kingdom’s decision to donate missiles to Ukraine has been considered extremely dangerous by many defense experts as it could lead to a world war. Till now the western countries did not want to give such weapons to Ukraine, which can go deep inside Russia and kill them. Such weapons ranged from fighter jets to ballistic missiles. Russia was repeatedly warning western countries that if they give weapons for Ukraine, the Russian army can respond to those countries as well.
Sunak government ignored Russia’s warning
However, the United Kingdom (UK) government, ignoring Russia’s warning, has now said that it will definitely provide long-range cruise missiles to Ukraine. UK’s Defense Minister Ben Wallace himself confirmed this on Thursday, May 11. They told that they are helping Ukraine to respond to Russian attacks, and under this they are sending long-range cruise missiles. He said, “Our country is donating ‘Storm Shadow’ missiles to Ukraine.”
Defense Minister said- ‘Ukraine has the right to defend itself’
Defense Minister Wallace said in a statement to the ‘House of Commons’, “Today, I can confirm that the UK has ‘donated’ Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine.” Russia’s cowardly attacks can be given a befitting reply through these weapon systems. “Wallace said,” Ukraine has the right to defend itself. Now using Storm Shadow, Ukraine will push back the Russian army from its sovereign territory.
‘Storm shadow’ can go up to 500 km
‘Storm Shadow’ missiles have the capability to hit targets at a distance of more than 250 km. It is said that its updated version can go up to 500 km away. This is a cruise missile which is fired from a fighter aircraft. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky has been demanding such weapons since last year’s invasion of the Russian army, but international supporters were hesitant to give him these weapons.
