Karnataka Election Result 2023: karnataka assembly election The results will be revealed today i.e. on Saturday (May 13). According to the Election Commission, this time record voting (73.19 percent) has been recorded. Voters and all party leaders are now eagerly waiting for the results. 36 centers have been set up for counting of votes, where security has been beefed up. The counting of votes will start from 8 am. By afternoon the picture of Karnataka will be clearly visible, before that all the political parties are also engaged in their preparations.
Congress has been shown an edge in the analysis of political pundits and most of the exit poll data. In the results of the ABP-News-CVoter exit poll released after the polling on May 10, Congress has been predicted to get 100-112 seats, BJP 83-95, JDS 21-29 and others 2-6. The possibility of a hung assembly is not being ruled out in the state. In this context, former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda’s party JDS is expecting to be the ‘kingmaker’.
BJP Congress discussed their strategy
On Friday (May 12) i.e. a day before the counting of votes, both the ruling BJP and the Congress discussed their respective strategies and brainstormed to contact the independent candidates. Congress general secretary and in-charge of Karnataka Randeep Singh Surjewala, party’s state unit chief DK Shivakumar and former deputy chief minister G Parameshwara, along with other leaders, held a heated discussion at the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in Bengaluru. Kharge said that the Congress is getting a huge majority and will decide the future course of action after the results are out.
According to party sources, the Congress leaders discussed ways to keep the newly elected MLAs together and also discussed how to approach independent candidates in the absence of a clear mandate.

CM Bommai discussed with party leaders at Yeddyurappa’s residence
Meanwhile, in the BJP camp, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai held discussions with other party leaders including Ministers Murugesh Nirani, Byrathi Basavaraj, party MPs Lahar Singh Siroya and AT Ramaswamy at the residence of former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa. Bommai expressed confidence that the BJP would cross the “magic figure” with a clear majority. He said that now the question of alliance talks with other political parties does not arise.
According to sources, the BJP has also chalked out a strategy to keep its newly elected MLAs together. The party is trying to contact independent candidates as well as candidates from smaller parties who are likely to win.
Former PM HD Deve Gowda contacted candidates
At the same time, in the absence of JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy, party patron and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda has reportedly contacted the candidates of the party who can win. Deve Gowda called such candidates and asked them to be loyal to the party and its leadership. Kumaraswamy is in Singapore for a health check-up and may reach Karnataka on Saturday morning.
All eyes on these VIP seats of Karnataka
All eyes are on Karnataka’s Shiggaon, Varuna, Kanakapura, Channapatna, Hubli Dharwad Central, Chittapur, Shikaripuria, Tirthahalli, Chikmagalur and Shivamogga assembly seats. VIP candidates are trying their luck from these seats.
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai from Shiggaon, former CM Siddaramaiah from Varuna, Karnataka Congress President DK Shivakumar from Kanakapura, former CM from Channapatna and JDS leader HD Kumaraswamy, former CM from Hubli Dharwad Central and Jagadish Shettar from BJP to Congress, Congress national from Chittapur President Mallikarjun Kharge’s son Priyank Kharge, former CM BS Yeddyurappa’s son BY Vijayendra from Shikaripuria, Karnataka Home Minister Araga Gyanendra from Tirthahalli, BJP national general secretary CT Ravi from Chikmagalur and Channabasappa from Shivamogga are in the fray. Senior BJP leader and former minister KS Eshwarappa has been a five-time MLA from Shivamogga seat. It was expected that the BJP would give ticket to his son KE Kantesh but the party fielded Channabasappa.
High profile leaders fighting from these three seats as well
Apart from this, everyone’s eye will be on three more seats. These include Athani, Sirsi and Holenarsipur. Former Deputy CM Laxman Savadi, who recently joined Congress after leaving BJP, is contesting from Athani. Karnataka Assembly Speaker Vishweshwar Hegde is in the Kageri field from Sirsi, while HD Revanna, the elder son of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda, is trying his luck from Holenarasipura.
