India Internet Speed: Jio and Airtel are engaged in rapid 5G rollout in India. Both companies have launched 5G in many cities across India. Recently, there was news that Airtel is now available in more than 3000 cities. Whereas, Jio is available in more than 500 cities. Jio’s service is available on more than 82, 000 sites. As the pace of roll out of 5G network service in the country picks up, India has moved up four places in the global ranking in terms of average mobile speed.

According to a report by Ookla, India was ranked 64th in March on the Speedtest Global Index, but has now moved up to 60th in April. According to the report, in April 2023, India’s mobile data speed increased by 115 percent. Ookla registered progress in April with an average mobile download speed of 36.35 Mbps. If compared to March, the average mobile download speed in March was 33.30 Mbps.
