What are the 5 guarantees?

Congress had promised that it will fulfill five guarantees if it comes to power.

  2. Monthly assistance of Rs 2,000 to the female head of each family (Griha Lakshmi).
  3. 10 kg free rice to each member of the Below Poverty Line (BPL) family (Anna Bhagya).
  4. Rs 3,000 per month for unemployed graduate youth and Rs 1,500 for unemployed diploma holders (both in the age group 18-25) for two years (Yuva Nidhi)
  5. Free travel for women in public transport buses (Shakti).

What did CM Siddaramaiah say about these five guarantees?

CM Siddaramaiah said, “Whatever the financial implications, the promises will be fulfilled.” Siddaramaiah said that the government’s initial estimate is that fulfilling election promises would cost the exchequer Rs 50,000 crore annually.

Apart from this, he said, “Grih Jyoti Yojana will be implemented first in the state. Under this, 200 units of electricity will be given free of cost. About Rs 1,200 crore will be spent on this. Talking about the next scheme, he said, “The work on Grihalakshmi scheme is going on. After the next cabinet meeting, we will tell how much will be spent on this. Now, no matter how much it costs to implement these schemes, we will implement them. On the free ride scheme, he said that it is only for Kannadigas.

He has clearly said, “First the details will be done about it, then it will be discussed in detail. Now it is necessary to look into the details.” Citing an example, CM Siddaramaiah said that the way the youth were asked to give unemployment money, they have to find out how many are unemployed in the state and which youth will be covered under which scheme. .
