Fake 2000 Rupees Note: The Reserve Bank of India has decided to withdraw the Rs 2000 note from circulation. The central bank has ordered all banks not to issue 2000 rupee notes. People have been given 4 months time to deposit Rs 2000 notes in the bank. These notes will be withdrawn by 30 September 2023.

Legal action may be taken

The Reserve Bank says that if fake notes are found up to 4 numbers, then the police will be informed about it. If 5 notes are found, the nodal officer will immediately inform the local police and an FIR will be registered and the investigation will be done. A copy of the FIR will be sent to the main branch of the bank.
