Will America put pressure on India? Biden government’s NSA gave this answer to this question


G7 Summit 2023: US President Joe Biden will hold talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Japanese city of Hiroshima, where the two leaders are attending the Group of Seven (G7) summit, where they will also discuss the Quad Will also attend the meeting.

Meanwhile, US National Security Advisor (NSA) Jack Sullivan said that Biden would look for an opportunity to speak on the “constructive role” India can play in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. When asked whether Biden would apply pressure or urge India to toughen its stand on both Russia and China, Sullivan said, “I think pressure is just a wrong word.”

I mean President Biden doesn’t work like this with these prominent leaders with whom he has a deep relationship like President Lula and President Modi Are.”

Sullivan said, “But he (Biden) will look for the opportunity to talk with the two about the constructive role each country can play in supporting the most basic and fundamental element of sovereignty and territorial integrity.” We thank President Lula for the United Nations Charter and, of course, Brazil’s support of several key UN General Assembly resolutions in this struggle.”

Visit of PM of India to Japan for G-7
Sullivan also said that Biden would like to talk about many things beyond Ukraine. Incidentally, Japan’s Foreign Ministry has also officially announced the visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday. Zelensky will participate in a one-on-one session with G-7 leaders on Sunday and will also be the guest of honor at a session on peace and stability with G-7 leaders and people from invited countries.

Japan’s Foreign Ministry statement said that Kishida and the Ukrainian President will also hold a bilateral meeting. Also, according to sources, a meeting is going to take place between PM Modi and President Zelensky in Japan. Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his Japanese counterpart Fumio Kishida and discussed ways to enhance “India-Japan friendship in various fields, including trade, economy and culture”.

Quad countries meeting will also be held today
India has been invited to participate in the G-7 summit as a guest country along with Indonesia, South Korea, Vietnam and Australia. At the same time, the Group Quad meeting of India, America, Australia and Japan will also be held in Japan, in which Biden is going to meet PM Modi today along with the leaders of Australia and Japan. Earlier next week, the Quad Summit in Sydney was canceled after Biden said he was cutting his trip short.
