Karnataka Assembly Election 2023: Congress recently concluded karnataka assembly election BJP has been evicted from power by securing a majority with a landslide victory. The party had won 135 out of 224 seats, performing brilliantly, but despite this, Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar is not happy. In a meeting with party workers in Bengaluru on Sunday (May 21), he said that the Congress should perform well in every election. Because there are general elections next year and there should be a better result in that.

DK Shivakumar, who was sworn in as the Deputy Chief Minister of the state on Saturday, told the workers that let me tell one thing to all of you that I am not happy with the 135 seats we got in the assembly elections. Our focus should be on the right place and that is the upcoming general elections. Congress should do well in every election from now on and we all need to work hard.

“Don’t be lazy with a win”

DK Shivakumar further said that this is just a beginning and one should not be lazy with a win. Let us tell you that there are 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka. In the 2019 election, the BJP had won 25 seats. Congress and HD Kumaraswamy’s Janata Dal Secular had won one seat each. The Congress had won in Bangalore Rural. While JDS got victory in Hassan.

BJP will reconsider the reasons for defeat

This time Congress is expecting better performance with Lingayat and Ahinda votes. While the BJP won only 65 seats in the Karnataka assembly election results, the party managed to garner 36 percent of the vote. Senior party leader and former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had said after the election results that the party would reconsider the reasons for its defeat and work twice as hard before next year’s Lok Sabha elections.
