Common people protested at Jantar Mantar for loan waiver, demanded this from the central government

Delhi News: Demonetisation in the country affected every section of the country, where black money hoarders were attacked, while the middle class people were also affected by it. After this, the lockdown caused by the Corona epidemic worsened the condition of the people. The source of income stopped, many became unemployed, but their expenses did not stop, due to which the middle class people kept getting buried under the burden of debt. Lockdown had a very bad effect on every section of farmers, job professionals or businessmen and they have not been able to get out of the swamp of loans taken during that time. At the same time, it is becoming a reason for the anger of the common people, because the lockdown in the country has not only affected their business-jobs, but also the deposits that were there also ended and they became indebted. That’s why now people are demanding loan waiver from the government.

Let us tell you that hundreds of people from different states of the country reached Delhi’s Jantar Mantar regarding this and did a one-day symbolic hunger strike. People say that the government waives off the loans of big industrialists. Along with this, the loans of the farmers are also waived off, but why are the loans of the common people not waived off? What is the fault of middle class families and small businessmen like him, who are in debt of lakhs. The government has underwritten a loan of Rs 12,770 crore, similarly why can’t the loan of common people be underwritten for two years.

many suicides due to debt
People sitting on one-day hunger strike have requested the central government for financial assistance. The protesting people demand that the way the loans of big industrialists are waived off, in the same way their loans should also be waived off. On the other hand, if their loan cannot be waived, then they should be given a deferment of 2 years. So that they can repay that loan as per their convenience. Let us tell you that apart from the capital Delhi, such news had come some time back from many places where businessmen had committed suicide because of their debts. Apart from Delhi, many incidents of suicide by debt-ridden people were also reported from different states of the country.

Lakhs of people joined the campaign running for 10 months across the country
Hundreds of people, including a large number of women, participated in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar under the ‘Free Debt Free India Campaign’. The people who reached Jantar Mantar carrying the tricolor in their hands have kept a symbolic hunger strike for one day. During this, Shahnawaz Chowdhary, who is leading this campaign, said that the debt-free campaign is going on in the country for the last 10 months and more than 3.5 lakh people have joined this campaign. He said that in his knowledge, memorandum has been sent seven times to the Finance Ministry and four times to the Prime Minister’s Office, but till now no satisfactory reply has been received from the government.

Loan should be waived or 2 years deferment should be given
He said that the figures of the government are that in the last 5 years more than 50 people have committed suicide due to debt. We do not want a person to be forced to take any wrong step due to debt. That’s why the government should understand the seriousness of this issue and there is a demand from our government that those people, who are stuck in the swamp of debt due to demonetisation, GST, either the government waives their debt. On the other hand, if their loan cannot be forgiven, then at least 2 years time should be given to repay the loan.
