IOC Nation In G20 Summit: The G20 tourism meeting was held in Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir, India from 22 to 24 May. Pakistan had strongly protested about this meeting. Apart from this, Saudi Arabia along with China also refused to attend the meeting. However, despite this, the G20 tourism meeting was completed in a very spectacular manner.
Meanwhile, India got a big diplomatic victory. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries have confirmed their participation in the G20 tourism meeting in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar, which came as a slap on Pakistan, which spread misinformation about India to the world. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had also made many allegations on India.
Many Muslim countries did not participate
Nations from across the world including the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (IOC) countries participated in the historic G20 meeting. IOC member states including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Oman and the United Arab Emirates were present. Bangladesh was represented at the G20 tourism meeting by its High Commissioner Mustafizur Rahman, while the UAE sent two officials from its capital.
At the same time, the presence of Indonesia, the world’s most populous Muslim-majority country, joined the meeting and forced Pakistan to think. Pakistan wrote a letter to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (IOC) countries urging them to boycott the G20 Tourism Working Group meeting, resulting in Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia skipping the meeting on the first day in Kashmir.
