UPSC Civil Services Result 2022: After the announcement of UPSC 2022 results on Tuesday (May 23), there was a controversy over two ranks. UPSC has made its stand clear regarding this. The Union Public Service Commission has talked about taking criminal action against two candidates (Ayesha Makrani and Tushar Kumar) who have allegedly claimed selection.
According to news agency PTI, the UPSC issued a statement on Friday (May 26), saying, “The claims of both the persons are false. They have forged documents in their favor to prove their claims.” The statement said that by doing so, both Makrani and Tushar have violated the provisions of the Civil Services Examination, 2022 Rules notified by the Central Government (Department of Personnel and Training). Therefore, as per the provisions of the Examination Rules, UPSC is considering criminal and disciplinary punitive action against both the candidates for cheating.
What was said in the statement of UPSC?
“The system of UPSC is robust as well as completely secure and such mistakes are not possible,” the statement said. UPSC conducts civil services examination every year in three stages- preliminary, main and interview to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS).
Sharing the details, the commission said that Ayesha Makrani, daughter of Salimuddin Makrani, who claimed to be the final selection recommendation of UPSC, has been found to have forged documents in her favour.
Ayesha Makrani got low numbers
The statement said that the actual roll number of Ayesha Makrani is 7805064. He appeared in the preliminary examination held on June 5, 2022 and secured only 22.22 marks in General Studies Paper-I and 21.09 marks in General Studies Paper-II.
UPSC said, “As per the requirement of examination rules, she needed to obtain at least 66 marks in Paper-II. She has not only failed to qualify in Paper-II but also failed to qualify in Paper-I cut-off. Marks. The cut-off marks for the preliminary examination of the year 2022 was 88.22 marks for unreserved category.”
‘Makrani failed in the stage of preliminary examination’
Therefore, Ayesha Makrani failed in the preliminary stage itself and could not proceed to the next stage of examination, the UPSC statement said. On the other hand, according to UPSC, Ayesha Fatima, daughter of Naziruddin with roll number 7811744, is the genuine candidate, who has secured 184th rank in the final result of UPSC Civil Services Examination, 2022.
Similarly, in case of Tushar s/o Brijmohan of Rewari, Haryana, he had applied for Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2022 and was allotted Roll No. 2208860 for this examination. UPSC said that he appeared in the preliminary examination and scored minus 22.89 marks in General Studies Paper-I and 44.73 marks in General Studies Paper-II. As per the exam rules, he needed to score at least 66 marks in Paper-II.
‘Tushar also failed in the preliminary exam itself’
Thus, Tushar also failed in the preliminary examination stage itself and could not proceed to the next stage of examination, the statement said. “On the other hand, it is confirmed that Tushar Kumar, s/o Ashwani Kumar Singh, resident of Bihar, bearing Roll Number 1521306, is the genuine candidate who has secured 44th rank in the UPSC examination,” the statement said.
