NITI Aayog Meeting Boycott: The 8th meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog was held on Saturday (May 27) under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In this meeting, the Chief Ministers of 8 states openly boycotted while the Chief Ministers of three states could not attend it. However, the Chief Ministers of all the states and the Lieutenant Governors of the Union Territories were called in this meeting.
The chief ministers of the states who did not attend the meeting include West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, Telangana CM KCR, Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, Odisha CM Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant MannDelhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Manipur CM N Biren Singh.
What did NITI Aayog say?
After the NITI Aayog meeting, CEO BVR Subramaniam gave information about the issues that were discussed in the meeting. BVR Subramaniam said, “Chief Ministers of 11 states did not attend the meeting. This is not the first time, it has been seen before also. We have written statements of many people. The policy is made taking all of them into consideration.

He said that in the eighth meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog, the Prime Minister said, “When states grow, India grows.” NITI Aayog said in a tweet, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi urges the states to take financially prudent decisions so that they become financially sound and able to deliver programs that fulfill the dreams of citizens.”

The 8th meeting of the NITI Aayog Governing Council was held at Pragati Maidan on Saturday. The main theme of the meeting chaired by the Prime Minister was ‘Developed India @ 2047: Role of Team India’.
