CSK vs GT, IPL Final 2023: Due to rain in the final match of the 16th season of IPL, the game could not be started till now. In this match played between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans, due to rain since the evening, the match is expected to go into the reserve-day. In such a situation, umpire Nitin Menon made it clear that he would try to get the match done today itself.
Talking to the broadcasters, both the on-field umpires of the final match, Nitin Menon and Rod Tucker, said that. When we went to the ground after the rain stopped around 9 o’clock, the conditions were much better. Whereas before that it was raining continuously for 3 hours. We were hopeful that we would resume the game soon. But suddenly it started raining again. We can start the game by 12:06, but for that the groundsman needs 1 hour to prepare the ground.
The umpires further said that we will try to get the match done today itself. But for that the rain has to stop till 11 o’clock. If this does not happen, we will conduct this match on the reserve day.

For the first time in IPL history, the final will be held on reserve day.
If the final match of this season to be played between Chennai and Gujarat does not start on time, then it will be held on the reserve-day. This will be seen for the first time in IPL history when the final match will be held on Reserve-Day.
