BJP wins both seats in UP Legislative Council by-election, CM Yogi Adityanath congratulates


UP MLC By-Elections 2023 Results: The results of the by-elections held on Monday for two seats of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council have been released. BJP candidates have won both these seats and the Samajwadi Party has been defeated. On the other hand, after the victory of BJP on both the seats, the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Has tweeted congratulating. 396 MLAs of the assembly voted in the by-elections held on two seats of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council. In one seat, BJP’s Padma Sen Chowdhary got 279 votes and SP’s Ramkaran got 116 votes. Apart from this, BJP’s Manvendra Singh got 280 votes and SP’s Ram Jatan Rajbhar got 115 votes on the second seat.

After BJP’s victory, CM Yogi tweeted and wrote – “Hearty congratulations to Mr. Padamsen Chaudhary and Mr. Manvendra Singh, the candidates of the double engine government, for the victory in the by-elections for the post of members of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council! Full confidence It is believed that according to the vision of the respected Prime Minister, the public conduct, hard work and experience of both the victorious respected members will be helpful in achieving the resolution of ‘self-reliant Uttar Pradesh’. Best wishes to all of you for a bright tenure.”

In the UP Legislative Council by-election, 396 MLAs voted, among the seven MLAs who did not vote, three jailed MLAs included Abbas Ansari (Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj Party), Irfan Solanki (Samajwadi Party) and Ramakant Yadav (Samajwadi Party). Apart from this, two MLAs of Congress, one MLA of Bahujan Samaj Party and one MLA of SP (Manoj Paras) did not vote.

Voting for these two seats was held due to the resignation of UP Legislative Council member Laxman Acharya and death of Banwari Lal Dohra. In this election, BJP has nominated Manvendra Singh and Padmasen Chaudhary as its candidates, while Samajwadi Party has nominated Ram Jatan Rajbhar and Ramkaran Nirmal as its candidates.
