Although most of the Congress leaders of both the states have advised the party leadership not to support Kejriwal, but sources say that in the coming days Congress President Kharge will give an appointment to AAP’s convenor Kejriwal, with this the Congress Ordinance But can also support Kejriwal. According to Congress sources, the option of alliance with Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi is also open.
Maken and Arvinder Lovely differ in opinion
In the meeting, senior leader Ajay Maken advised not to support Kejriwal citing the Centre’s ordinance as justified, while Arvinder Singh Lovely gave the opposite opinion. Most of the leaders of Delhi believe that Congress should not support Kejriwal. Senior leaders of Punjab Congress are also of the same opinion. The decision has to be taken by the Congress high command.
Allies pressure on Congress
Sources say that the Congress does not want to be seen standing in support of the Modi government on the issue of the ordinance. He is also under pressure from allies because everyone from Nitish Kumar to Sharad Pawar is in favor of Kejriwal. The question is, after the ordinance, is there a possibility of further alliance between Congress and AAP? This is a very complicated question for both the parties.
Congress and Aam Aadmi Party are face to face in Punjab. In such a situation, it is very difficult to form an alliance on the thirteen seats of the Lok Sabha here. There is also an argument behind this that BJP is not strong in Punjab.
Congress was not ready
At the same time, the BJP is in possession of all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi. In Delhi, the Aam Aadmi Party has 62 out of 70 seats in the assembly. Congress is at number three in the assembly elections, but at number two in the Lok Sabha elections. There was an attempt for alliance in the last Lok Sabha elections also. The Congress had given a formula for three seats for itself and four seats for AAP, but instead of Delhi, Kejriwal wanted a seat outside as well, for which the Congress was not ready.
The option of Delhi is definitely open
Outside Punjab and Delhi, Kejriwal will also field Lok Sabha candidates in states like Gujarat and Goa. Before that Aam Aadmi Party will also contest assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Aam Aadmi Party has now become a national party as well. Obviously, Congress sees Kejriwal as a political threat. In such a situation, the national alliance of Congress and AAP is impossible, but the option of Delhi is definitely open.
