Rajasthan Political Crisis: Assembly elections are to be held in Rajasthan this year. Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has settled the years-old dispute between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot. The party high command has made this claim. Gehlot and Sachin Pilot appeared together after a meeting that lasted for four hours at Congress Chief Mallikarjun Kharge’s house. Rahul Gandhi was also present in this meeting.
On May 29, the churning between the four leaders continued for about four hours at Kharge’s house. Kharge and Rahul Gandhi also spoke separately to Pilot and Gehlot. It was decided in the meeting that both the leaders would contest the assembly elections together. After the meeting, both Gehlot and Pilot leaders did not say anything. It is not yet clear on what terms the reconciliation between the two has taken place. Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal gave this information about what happened in the meeting.
Gehlot-Pilot will contest elections together
KC Venugopal said, “Both will work together. High command will decide on both. Will fight elections together. Will win against BJP in Rajasthan. We have decided that Congress will go to polls unitedly. High command will decide on both. High command will decide on issues.” Will take and it is decided that we will fight together.
According to sources, the party high command held separate meetings with Gehlot and Pilot. Both the leaders openly presented their side. The Congress leadership appealed to both the leaders, Gehlot and Pilot, to forget their differences and unite for the assembly elections to be held later this year. The picture of reconciliation formula is not clear but Pilot was assured of action on his issues.
Now Gehlot will respect the pilot!
Information has been received from sources that Congress President Kharge will take a decision regarding Rajasthan in the coming days. Congress will contest the next assembly elections under the leadership of Gehlot, but the role of Sachin Pilot will also be important. In view of reconciliation, Pilot will no longer open a front against the Gehlot government. Gehlot will also give respect to Sachin.
The Congress was troubled by the rebellion of Sachin Pilot, but now on the lines of Karnataka, it has been decided to postpone the estrangement till after the elections. Now the decision will be on the results after the Rajasthan assembly elections.
Who dominates in Rajasthan
At present, there is a Congress government in Rajasthan and Ashok Gehlot is the Chief Minister of the state. Elections can be held before December 2023 in Rajasthan with 200 assembly seats. There is a possibility of direct fight between Congress and BJP. BJP leader Vasundhara Raje was considered to be dominant in the state for two decades, but now BJP is looking for a new leadership in Rajasthan.
The BJP had to face defeat in the December 2018 assembly elections under the leadership of Vasundhara Raje. The BJP is expected to return to power here in the 2023 elections, while CM Gehlot would like the Congress government to continue here.
