14 year old girl gave new life to others by donating organ in Karnataka, saved 10 lives


Organ Donation: A family in Karnataka has given new life to many people by donating their baby girl’s organs. In fact, Kriti, a 14-year-old girl, fell from the fourth floor while playing with her brothers on the roof of the house. The family took him to the nearest hospital, where he had to be shifted to the ICU. He was declared brain-dead on 28 May at BGS Gleneagles Global Hospital. He died even after many attempts.

After being declared brain-dead, the family decided to donate their baby girl’s organs. It was difficult for businessman Virendra Kumar Jain and wife Monika Jain to recover from the loss but the family decided to keep his memory alive by donating his organs. The family donated Kriti’s lungs, liver, kidney and heart. Kriti’s body parts have given new life to 10 people.

What did Kriti’s father say?

Kriti was a happy and lively child. Her father told that she was the most loved child of the house. Everyone loved him. She was very energetic and fun loving. He said, “Whenever I was upset, she used to tell me – Papa, please smile.” Kriti, a Class 8 student of Baldwin Girls’ High School, was good at studies. Father Virendra said that she was one of the top 10 students in her class. We are happy that today someone else has got life from his organs.

What are the types of organ donation?

Let us tell you that organ donation is done in two ways. The first is organ donation while the person is alive and the second is after death. For organ donation, a will is written that which part of his body will be donated after death. Eye, kidney, liver, lung, heart, pancreas and intestine can be donated after death.
