According to the information received from the police, the accused was arrested two days after the murder on the basis of the complaint of his wife Rekha. Police said that the attacker was identified as Ramanuja.

Ramanuja lived with his family in a rented apartment in Surat’s Satya Nagar Society. Investigating officers said that there was an argument between the accused and his wife over the issue of their daughter sleeping on the terrace. The debate increased so much that the accused lost his temper and the situation worsened. Due to which violence took place. The entire incident has been captured in the CCTV camera.

According to the CCTV footage, at around 11.20 pm, Ramanuja attacked his wife with a knife in front of the children at home, injuring her. During this, when his children tried to catch him and had a scuffle with him, for some time those children overpowered Ramanuja.
However, after a while, the accused attacked the person who came within his reach. During this, he caught hold of his daughter and attacked her several times with a knife. Even when the girl escaped from his clutches and entered a room to save her life, the accused followed her and stabbed her to death.
Injured are being treated
Even after this Ramanuja climbed on the roof to kill his wife. In such a situation, to save the mother, the children tried to catch her, but even then they suffered minor injuries. Surat police arrested Ramanuja after getting information about the case and also recovered the weapons used in the murder.
Inspector RK Patel, the chief investigator of the case, said that the accused has been arrested and a case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the IPC, including murder and attempt to murder. At present, the treatment of the injured is going on.
