According to Swiggy, Biryani has been the most ordered food item during the IPL season. Swiggy received a record 1.2 crore orders for Biryani during the entire season. This means that during the entire season, people placed an average of 212 orders of Biryani every minute. Non-veg Biryani dominated in this. People placed 20 orders for non-veg biryani as against 1 order for veg biryani.
Fastest delivery in 77 seconds
Swiggy said that during IPL 2023, not only all the teams and many players performed brilliantly, but Swiggy’s delivery partners also proved to be matchless in this matter. Swiggy’s delivery partners covered a distance of 330 million kilometers to deliver during the season. In this, the fastest delivery was done in just 77 seconds and this record was made in Kolkata.

Bengaluru, famous for the IT sector, won the most in terms of ordering during this period. Swiggy received 1.2 crore orders from this city alone in the entire season. Talking about food and drink, the talk remains incomplete without the mention of the capital Delhi. A user from Delhi single-handedly ordered 701 samosas during the entire season. At the same time, a user ordered food worth Rs 26,474 in one go, which was the biggest single order of the season.
Increased demand for condoms during finals
During this time people also ordered a lot of other things. In terms of food items, apart from biryani and samosas, items like jalebi-fafda, soup were also brought in plenty. The order of condoms also made a lot of headlines. Swiggy said that it delivered 2,423 condoms only during the final match.
