Foxconn to start manufacturing iPhones: Foxconn, Taiwan’s multinational electronics contract manufacturer will start manufacturing iPhones in Bengaluru from April next year. For this, the Karnataka government will allot land to Foxconn by July so that the company can setup factory and other plants etc. to make iPhones. Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil said that the government has started expediting the project worth Rs 13,600 crore. 50,000 people will get jobs from this project. He said that the government will give 300 acres of land identified in ITIR to Foxconn by July 1. Along with this, the government will also help the company to arrange for road, water and electricity.
Along with this, MB Patil told that he has asked Foxconn for information about the skill set of the employees so that the people of the state can be trained and prepared to work in the company. Let me tell you, this Taiwan-based company has given 30% of the land to be allotted to the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB) for about Rs 90 crore. Foxconn will complete this project in three phases and once it is completed, the company will make more than 20 million iPhones every year. That is, the company will manufacture 20 million iPhones in India.
Tata is also making iPhone
Tata has acquired Wistron’s manufacturing facilities in India and the company is manufacturing the new iPhone model in the country. According to a report in The Times of India, the Tata group has started manufacturing Apple’s iPhone at its Naraspura manufacturing plant near Bengaluru. Recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook met Tata Group Chairman N Chandrasekaran, after which the news of Tata Group’s acquisition of Wistron came to the fore.
Here, Apple has already opened two of its official stores in India. One of these is at Jio World Drive Mall in Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai and the other is at Select City Walk Mall, Saket, Delhi. People can buy all the products of Apple from these two stores. That is, whatever the company sells, you will get to see it in these stores.
